Our story

P

Based in Brussels, fluent in English, Dutch and French. Petrava was started after experiencing first-hand how stressful and opaque international pet travel can be. Too many families arrive at the airport unprepared, or discover a missing document only after they've landed.

Our goal is simple: no surprises. We've mapped the requirements for dozens of destination countries, maintain relationships with specialist vets, and know which airlines actually follow their published pet policies. We reply within 1 hour, every day.

Frequently asked questions

Does my pet need a passport?

Within the EU and for many other destinations, yes — your pet needs an official EU Pet Passport or equivalent health certificate issued by a government-authorised vet. We'll tell you exactly what's required for your route.

What vaccinations are required?

Rabies vaccination is required for most international routes. Some countries (including the UK, Australia, and Japan) require a rabies titre test done at an approved lab at least 30 days before travel. We'll give you a precise timeline.

Can my dog or cat fly in the cabin?

It depends on the airline and your pet's weight. Most airlines allow pets under 8 kg (pet + carrier) in the cabin on EU routes. Brachycephalic (flat-nosed) breeds are subject to stricter policies. We know the policies for every major airline.

How far in advance do I need to start?

For straightforward EU moves: 4–6 weeks. For destinations requiring a titre test or import permit (UK, USA, Australia, Japan): 3–6 months minimum. Contact us as early as possible — we'll build a precise timeline for your situation.

How much does it cost?

Our Travel Plan is free. Paid services — document assistance, vet coordination, and full logistics — are quoted individually based on your route and requirements. Browse our services page for an overview.
